Some K-drama premises sound wild on paper, and “Make Me Tingle” is exactly that kind of show. A trend-savvy marketer secretly raised in one of Korea’s most traditional households, falling into the orbit of a sex-toy startup CEO? That’s the kind of tonal whiplash that makes a coming-of-age rom-com actually memorable — and the newly released stills prove the show is leaning all the way into it.

What’s the Story Actually About?

At its core, “Make Me Tingle” follows Gong Yeon Su, played by Nam Ji Hyun, a woman who believes in love but has never quite figured out what it means for her. Enter Dokgo Dal, played by Kim Jae Yeong, whose unconventional business opens up a completely different world for her. It’s billed as a chaotic coming-of-age romantic comedy, and based on the newly released stills, “chaotic” might be underselling it.

Two Completely Different Lives, One Character

What makes Gong Yeon Su interesting isn’t just the romance — it’s the double life she’s already living before Dokgo Dal even enters the picture. She’s the eldest daughter of her family’s main branch, raised under rigorous, conservative-minded training since childhood, while working by day as a modern, trend-focused marketer.

The newly released stills lean hard into that contrast, showing a lifestyle that feels almost anachronistic for the 21st century. Yeon Su is shown gathered with family elders around a morning refreshment table, absorbing lengthy life lessons from her grandparents while somehow never losing her composed smile.

The Ancestral Rite Scenes Steal the Show

The most striking images come from her preparations for an ancestral memorial rite. She’s shown frying jeon (savory pancakes) with practiced ease in a kitchen packed with ritual dishes, and separately helping transfer fermented cheonggukjang (soybean paste) into containers as part of her family’s soybean-fermenting tradition. It’s a side of Gong Yeon Su that feels worlds away from her marketing job — and exactly the contrast the drama seems built to explore.
