Naga Chaitanya Is Now a Producer — And Dhootha 2 Has Officially Gone on Floors!

The Telugu entertainment world just got a major double announcement — and fans of the hit Prime Video thriller are losing their minds.

If you’ve been waiting for Dhootha 2, the wait is officially over in the best way possible. Not only has the mystery thriller web series kicked off production, but Naga Chaitanya has taken a massive leap — stepping behind the camera as a first-time producer on the project. Yes, actor turned producer. And honestly? It feels like a natural next step.

Dhootha 2: Everything You Need to Know

A New Chapter — On Screen and Behind the Scenes

Sharing pictures from the pooja ceremony marking the start of production, Naga Chaitanya wrote: “Auspicious beginnings as I step into the second chapter of Dhootha and take my first step as a producer. Onwards and upwards. Here’s to the magic ahead.”

There’s something deeply personal about that statement. Producing a project you believe in is a different kind of ownership — and for Chaitanya, this feels like a passion project rather than just another show.

The new season was formally launched with its first clap given by none other than his father, Nagarjuna Akkineni — making it a genuinely special family moment to kick things off.

Fan Favourites Return

Both Priya Bhavani Shankar and Parvathy Thiruvothu are reprising their roles from the previous season, which is great news for fans who loved the dynamic the two brought to the original. Continuity in cast is always a good sign for a thriller series — it means the story threads are being picked up properly.

The web series format has become the preferred storytelling medium for complex, layered narratives in Indian cinema, and Dhootha proved exactly why with its gripping Season 1 on Prime Video.
