Aston Villa have reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Moussa Diaby. The Premier League club will be paying a transfer fee in excess of €50 million, and the move will be wrapped up very soon.

The player had a huge offer from Al Nassr to sign for them, but turned it down in favour of a move to the Premier League. He was convinced by Unai Emery’s project at the club and is set to be the latest new addition to the team after they sealed moves for Youri Tielemans and Pau Torres

Diaby will reunite with former Bayer Leverkusen teammate Leon Bailey, who is also at the club right now. With the abundance of attacking options available right now, Unai Emery will be expected to build on their success last season after the club qualified for European football.

The French winger is known for his technical ability and his pace on the flanks. This past season, he made 48 appearances across all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists. He was a very important player for Xabi Alonso as Leverkusen finished outside the top four.

His impressive figures attracted interest from several clubs across Europe. And now, he has decided on his next challenge – to play in the Premier League.
