Mouni Roy Says “Cannes & Chaos” — And She Means It: Arrives at French Riviera Days After Announcing Separation from Suraj Nambiar

If there’s one thing Mouni Roy has always known how to do, it’s show up — and show up magnificently. Just days after publicly announcing her separation from businessman husband Suraj Nambiar, the Brahmastra actress has landed on the French Riviera for Cannes 2026, turning heartbreak into high fashion with characteristic grace.

Mouni Roy at Cannes 2026 — Key Facts

“Cannes & Chaos” — Two Words That Say Everything

Taking to her social media, Mouni Roy gave her fans a glimpse into her chaotic yet fashionable time at Cannes 2026. Posting from a scenic balcony overlooking the French Riviera, Mouni captioned her post, “Cannes & Chaos! Bonjour x.”

Those two words carry a lot of weight right now. Mouni didn’t retreat. She didn’t go quiet. She got on a flight to the south of France — and she looked absolutely incredible doing it. That takes a certain kind of strength, and her fans are here for every second of it.

The Brahmastra actress painted the town black with an ultra-chic monochrome ensemble. She opted for a fitted black mini dress featuring a sharp, contrasting white halter-style collar. To beat the breezy French weather, she layered the dress with a structured coat and sheer black stockings, completing her look with black boots — nailing the high-fashion winter-chic vibe. GamsGo

Why She’s at Cannes — It’s About Her Work, Too

The actress is attending Cannes 2026 along with her co-star Anupria Goenka for the showcase of their upcoming film, Bombay Stories, at the Marché du Film. This marks Mouni’s return to the prestigious festival after her grand debut back in 2023. GamsGo

The Cannes Film Festival is one of the world’s most celebrated platforms for cinema, and Mouni’s presence there with a new film project is a reminder that beyond all the personal headlines, she remains a working actress building a screen career.

The Separation & What Both Sides Have Said

Mouni Roy flew straight to the French Riviera just days after announcing her official separation from husband Suraj Nambiar. They recently released a joint statement on Instagram confirming their decision to part ways after four years together.

Suraj also cleared the air online, shutting down rumours about alimony disputes or third-party involvement, posting: “Recent baseless reports surrounding our separation have been made in bad taste and are absolutely malicious. Let me set the record straight once and for all. There is no alimony. There are no disputes. There is no third party involved. Mouni and I chose to part ways together, with mutual respect and with full consideration for each other’s well-being. That is the truth.”

Both have handled an incredibly public moment with dignity — and Mouni’s Cannes appearance is her own quiet statement: life, work and the show all go on.
