Motorola Signature 27 Launches with Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, 200MP Periscope Camera

Motorola Signature 27 is here, and it’s easily the boldest flagship Motorola has built in years. Unveiled alongside Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit reveal, the Motorola Signature 27 is the first phone in the world to ship with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip. It pairs that top-tier silicon with a 200MP periscope camera and a design partnership with audio brand Bang & Olufsen.

Motorola Signature 27: Camera and Performance

The camera setup centers on a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 primary sensor, paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto lens capable of up to 100x AI-assisted zoom. Motorola has also built a new “Video Enhancement Engine” that applies real-time AI color grading while recording, alongside 3.5-degree hardware optical image stabilization for steadier handheld shots.

Powering all of this is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, Qualcomm’s most powerful mobile chip yet. To keep that performance sustained, Motorola built a new “ArcticMesh” cooling system combining diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, a copper mesh layer, and a 3D vapor chamber 40% larger than the previous generation.

Software and Design

On the software side, the Signature 27 ships with Android 17 and Motorola has committed to a lengthy 7 years of OS upgrades plus 7 years of security updates. It also comes with Google Gemini Omni video-generation tools and Google’s Lyria AI music generation built directly into the experience.

Design-wise, Motorola is leaning into premium materials and finishes, including Pantone “Coal Smoke” woven-texture and “Capulet Olive” brushed-textile options, an aluminum frame, and a ceramic-and-aluminum camera housing. This also marks the first Motorola phone tuned with Bang & Olufsen audio, a partnership Motorola is clearly hoping will elevate its flagship credibility.

India Launch and Pricing

As of now, Motorola has not confirmed India-specific pricing or an exact launch date for the Signature 27, with the company only committing to a global rollout “later in 2026.” Given Motorola’s history of bringing its flagship devices to India within a few months of global unveilings, an India launch before early 2027 looks likely, though buyers should treat any leaked India price as speculation until Motorola makes an official announcement.

With the Signature 27, Motorola is clearly aiming to be taken seriously in the ultra-premium flagship conversation dominated by Samsung and Apple. For more on the latest flagship launches, check out TechnoSports’ Motorola coverage.

The Motorola Signature 27 also arrives at an interesting moment for the broader Android flagship race, where camera hardware and sustained thermal performance have become the two biggest differentiators between rival devices.

By pairing a periscope camera this ambitious with the very first Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, Motorola is signalling that it wants the Signature 27 talked about in the same breath as Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Ultra and Apple’s next iPhone Pro Max, rather than positioned as a budget-friendly alternative.

Whether that ambition translates into strong India sales will depend heavily on how Motorola prices the Signature 27 once local pricing is finally confirmed.

For now, Motorola’s decision to launch its most powerful phone ever without an India price or date leaves plenty of room for speculation. Expect more concrete details, including a likely India-specific variant name and price bracket, to surface over the coming weeks as the global rollout gets closer.

Until then, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 inside the Motorola Signature 27 remains the phone’s biggest talking point, and the clearest sign yet of how aggressively Motorola wants to compete at the very top of the smartphone market.
