Moto G84: Pricing, Specs, and Color Options Unveiled

Motorola is set to revitalize its budget-oriented Moto G series with the introduction of the Moto G84. This new device comes equipped with 5G capabilities and showcases an elegant design. Notably, Motorola has unveiled an array of color choices for the device, featuring a notable inclusion of Pantone Viva Magenta – a first in the sub-₹20,000 segment. Alongside its striking aesthetics, the phone houses a dual-camera setup on its rear and is complemented by a pOLED display.

For those contemplating the purchase of a smartphone within the sub-₹20,000 range, there’s already an array of impressive options on the market, such as the Redmi 12 5G, Lava Agni 2, and Realme 11 5G. However, the question arises: is the Moto G84 worth the anticipation? Let’s delve into the details.

Moto G84 Pricing and Specifications

The Moto G84 is expected to be available in two storage configurations. The base model, offering 128GB of storage, is projected to be priced around ₹20,000. Furthermore, Motorola has unveiled a variant featuring 256GB of storage, with an anticipated price tag of approximately ₹22,000.

The range of color options includes classic white and black, along with the striking addition of magenta. The black variant boasts a PMMA finish, while the other two options sport a vegan leather finish. As mentioned, the official launch of the phone is scheduled for September 1, and it will be retailed via Flipkart.

The Moto G84 showcases a spacious 6.55-inch pOLED display, complete with a high refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. This pOLED technology shares similarities with AMOLED displays, although subtle compositional distinctions exist between the two. The pOLED technology strives to deliver deep blacks and vibrant colors, characteristics often associated with AMOLED displays. Motorola has opted for pOLED displays across various budget and mid-range phones.

Under the hood, the device is anticipated to be powered by a Snapdragon 695 SoC, a chipset commonly found in devices within this price range. The Moto G84 is also equipped with a sizable 5,000mAh battery, complemented by 30W fast charging capabilities. The charging brick is included in the package.

Turning our attention to the camera system, the back of the phone accommodates two cameras – a 50-megapixel OIS camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Notably, Motorola has opted out of adding an extra macro or depth camera, instead providing macro photography functionality through the secondary camera.

Furthermore, Motorola emphasizes its clean Android software experience. The Moto G84 comes pre-loaded with Android 13, with an assured upgrade to Android 14 in the future. Additionally, the device is committed to receiving three years of security updates, providing users with an up-to-date and secure software environment. The phone will also feature a range of proprietary apps and features, including Moto Connect.
