Malayalam cinema’s most beloved superstar Mohanlal is on an absolute roll in 2026, and his upcoming cop action-comedy Athimanoharam is the next big thing fans are eagerly waiting for. Fresh updates suggest the shoot is inching towards its finish line — and the festive season target is making it even more exciting.
Will Athimanoharam Wrap Up by June 2026?
According to recent reports, Athimanoharam is expected to complete its shoot by June 2026, with the team planning to finish filming within the next 60 days and targeting a Pooja holiday release this year. However, this remains unconfirmed as no official announcement has been made by the makers yet.
A Pooja holiday release would be perfect timing — it is one of the most lucrative festive windows in Kerala, and a Mohanlal-led entertainer would be exactly what audiences want during the celebrations.

What’s the Film About?
Athimanoharam is said to be a cop action-comedy, with Mohanlal playing a Sub-Inspector at a local police station. The film also marks Meera Jasmine’s return to a lead role alongside Mohanlal after several years — she had previously made a cameo in Hridayapoorvam with the actor.
For those who love Malayalam cop dramas, the combination of Mohanlal in uniform with a comedic twist is genuinely mouth-watering. The project was initially announced as L365, with Thallumaala actor Austin Das attached as director. However, following creative differences, he was replaced by Tharun Moorthy, effectively turning it into an entirely new film distinct from the original version.
Mohanlal’s Packed 2026 Lineup
The superstar’s schedule in 2026 is nothing short of extraordinary. He is set to appear next on the big screen in Drishyam 3, directed by Jeethu Joseph, which was initially scheduled for April 2, 2026, but has now been postponed to May 21, 2026, coinciding with the actor’s 66th birthday.
He will also appear alongside Mammootty in the spy action drama Patriot, directed by Mahesh Narayanan, which features Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, and Nayanthara in key roles. Additionally, he has cameo appearances lined up in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa: Part 1, and even his daughter Vismaya Mohanlal’s debut film Thudakkam.
