The wait is over — Modern Warfare 4 just dropped its multiplayer trailer, and it’s exactly the kind of chaotic, fast-paced footage fans have been hoping for. With the beta only days away, this is our clearest look yet at what Infinity Ward has actually built.
What’s Confirmed So Far on Modern Warfare 4?
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| New Maps | 12 brand-new 6v6 maps at launch |
| Kill Block | Adaptive live-fire mode with reconfiguring battlegrounds |
| Kill Block Formats | 3v3 Gunfights and new 10v10 Gunfight mode |
| Ground War | Large-scale multiplayer mode returns |
| Future Support | More core multiplayer modes planned post-launch |
The standout is Kill Block, a genuinely new way to play — the environment itself shifts before every match, so no two rounds play out the same way. Combined with the return of Ground War, it looks like Infinity Ward is betting on variety over familiarity this time around.
Beta Weekend Is Almost Here
Beta Weekend One kicks off Saturday, 22 August in Australia, landing sometime between 4am and 5am — an early alarm for anyone wanting first access. To get in, you’ll need to have digitally pre-ordered on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|S.
Beta Weekend Two opens things up to everyone on 29 August, across all platforms including the Nintendo Switch 2.
Pre-ordering also comes with a nice bonus: early access to the single-player campaign, which unlocks a week before launch on October 16, 2026 PT.
When Does It All Launch?
Modern Warfare 4 hits PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S on October 23, 2026 — meaning this beta weekend is genuinely players’ first real hands-on with the finished multiplayer experience before release.
For more background on the franchise’s long-running legacy, Call of Duty has anchored the shooter genre since 2003, and MW4 looks set to keep pushing it forward.
Check out Technosports for more beta coverage and gaming trailers as the MW4 release date approaches.
