Missed Irumudi in Theaters? Here’s Exactly When Ravi Teja’s Family Actioner Hits Netflix

Ravi Teja’s “Irumudi” wrapped its theatrical run after releasing on August 21, 2026, and now it’s headed straight to your watchlist. If you missed the emotional father-daughter drama in cinemas, here’s everything you need to know about where and when to stream it.

Irumudi: Overview

What Irumudi Is Actually About

According to Pinkvilla’s report, the film centers on Trinadh Rama Kasu, a fiercely protective father who lives with his wife and daughter Manikanta in the village of Polluru. Trinadh has a habit of stepping in whenever girls in his community face mistreatment, even as his friend Goparaju urges him to stay quiet for the sake of “family honour.”

The story takes a darker turn when several schoolgirls, including Manikanta’s friend Gayathri, start behaving strangely after attending special classes run by a teacher named Dhanalakshmi. Manikanta begins digging into what’s really happening and uncovers a disturbing scheme involving Dhanalakshmi and an accomplice preying on the girls. Before she can expose the truth, she disappears under mysterious circumstances — pushing Trinadh into a desperate search that unravels secrets closer to home than he expected.

It’s a heavier, more socially conscious story than a typical mass-action entry, blending family drama with a genuine sense of urgency.

Why It’s Worth Streaming

Ravi Teja is known for high-energy commercial cinema, but “Irumudi” leans into a more vulnerable, dramatic register for him — playing a father whose protectiveness becomes both his strength and his blind spot. Director Shiva Nirvana, known for emotionally grounded storytelling, keeps the film centered on family stakes rather than pure spectacle, while GV Prakash Kumar’s score adds weight to the more intense sequences.

For fans who couldn’t catch it during its theatrical window, Netflix’s September 18 release means the film’s more character-driven approach can finally reach a wider audience.
