Milan in the process to renew Calhanoglu and Donnarumma’s contracts

AC Milan are currently at the top of the Serie A table, with 26 points from 10 games. They are also unbeaten in all the games that they have played in the league so far, dropping points on only two occasions via draws. They sit 5 points clear of city rivals Inter, who have managed to gather 21 points from 10 games and are second.

Reigning champions Juventus, on the other hand, are in fourth, behind goal difference to Napoli, both with 20 points from their ten games this season so far.

Both Hakan Calhanoglu, as well as Gigi Donnarumma are extremely vital to the club and are slowly nearing the end of their respective contracts at the San Siro Stadium. In episode 16 of the “Here We Go” podcast on Patreon, Fabrizio and Francesco Romano managed to provide an update on the contract situation of the two players.

Calhanoglu’s demands are that of 6-7 million euros after tax per season, and it is a wage that Milan will be hoping they can match. They otherwise risk losing their number 10 for free next summer, as he will be allowed to talk to different clubs in January when the winter transfer window opens.

Manchester United were heavily linked with the player during the summer transfer window but ultimately ended up signing Donny Van de Beek from Ajax instead. They will surely be interested in signing the player for free if he is available, given the recent Pogba bombshell.

Donnarumma, on the other hand, is keen to stay at AC Milan, but will also be looking ahead if no successful negotiations take place between his agent and the club. Both player’s agents and the club will be sitting down sometime soon to discuss their new contracts at the club.
