Micromax has been looking to make a comeback in the Indian market and in order to do this, it has formulated a plan of launching four or five new products every quarter. We already saw the brand launch the 1-Series devices such as the Micromax In 1, the In Note 1, and the In 1b. The most recent launch of the brand was In Note 2.
Micromax has a 2-Series coming up as well, which will have a 2b and 2c model. The Micromax In 2b was already announced earlier in July last year. As per an industry insider, the Micromax In 2c is set to join the 2b later this month or early in May. The source confirms that the In 2c will feature an Unisoc chip.
This piece of information was already known due to a GeekBench leak that surfaced in June last year. The In 2c is expected to be powered by the Unisoc T610 chip that was seen on the In 2b as well. The chip is similar to MediaTek’s Helio G80 SoC and it is an upgrade over the Helio G35 that powers the Micromax In 1b.
Apart from this, there is not really much known about the In 2c. It will be similar to the In 2b and it has a 6.52″ HD+ LCD display, 64GB expandable storage, 4GB/6GB RAM configurations, and a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support via a USB Type-C port. In the optics department, the device has a 13MP+2MP setup on the rear and a 5MP selfie shooter. The IN 2b will be a dual-SIM device with support for 4G VoLTE and dual-standby support, as well as VoWIFI.
Micromax is also planning to launch one affordable 5G smartphone and the In 2c will not be the one considering that the Unisoc T610 and its modem lack that capacity. There is still more set to launch from Micromax so do stay tuned!
