Netflix Mexico 2026: Complete Lineup

Netflix’s Must-Watch Productions

Santita: Gael García Bernal’s Unconventional Love Story

Santita explores what happens when past decisions collide with present realities. María José Cano—nicknamed “Santita” despite being far from saintly—left her true love at the altar two decades ago after a car accident confined her to a wheelchair. Now he’s back, forcing her to confront the life she abandoned.

Directed by Rodrigo García and starring Gael García Bernal, this “perversely irreverent” series promises to deconstruct romance tropes while delivering genuine emotional depth. Releasing in April 2026, it’s positioned as one of Netflix’s flagship Mexican dramas.

México 86: When Football Met Political Chaos

Diego Luna produces and stars in this satirical take on how Mexico secured hosting rights for the 1986 FIFA World Cup—a story involving political maneuvering, economic instability, and what the film calls “pure Mexican ingenuity.”

Originally awarded to Colombia, the tournament became available after economic concerns forced Colombia’s withdrawal. What followed was a frantic scramble where Mexico outmaneuvered the USA and Canada through improvisation and backroom deals. Director Gabriel Ripstein (Narcos) frames this historical sports story with dark humor and satirical edge.

Takedown: High-Stakes Highway Drama

Alfonso Herrera (Ozark, Sense8) leads this adrenaline-fueled thriller set on Sinaloa’s dangerous highways. As federal officer Arturo Carmona, he and unpredictable partner Héctor Rosales conduct what should be a routine traffic stop—until they realize they’ve accidentally apprehended one of the world’s most wanted criminals.

The action thriller promises high-octane sequences and the moral complexity Herrera brings to every role, exploring how split-second decisions can trigger life-or-death consequences.

The Circle: Political Corruption Exposed

Formerly titled Corruptores, this political thriller adapts Jorge Zepeda Patterson’s explosive novel about four friends entangled in a scandal linking Mexico’s Secretary of Defense to an actress’s murder. What begins as a quest for justice devolves into a dangerous game where morality becomes negotiable.

Starring Osvaldo Benavides, Michel Brown, Zuria Vega, and Raúl Briones, the series promises to expose the rotten core of political power through personal betrayals and institutional corruption.

Canelo Álvarez Documentary: Inside the Ring

Boxing fans get unprecedented access to Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez as he prepares for his trilogy match against Gennady “GGG” Golovkin—the fight defining his legacy. Produced by Stephen Curry’s Unanimous Media, the documentary explores the pressure, criticism, and values driving Mexico’s greatest modern boxer.

Physical 100: México—Ultimate Physique Competition

The Korean phenomenon gets a Mexican adaptation featuring 100 peak-condition athletes—wrestlers, boxers, firefighters, Olympians—competing in a pre-Hispanic arena to determine who has the “perfect physique.” Produced by Endemol Shine Boomdog, it promises culturally specific challenges while maintaining the original’s competitive intensity.

Alicia’s Law: The Good Wife Goes Mexican

This Mexican adaptation of CBS’s The Good Wife follows Alicia, whose life crumbles when her husband—a Supreme Court Justice Minister—lands in prison following a sex scandal. Forced to return to law practice at her college sweetheart’s firm, she must decide whether to rebuild her old life or forge a new identity entirely.

Lovesick: Revolution and Romance

Based on Ángeles Mastretta’s novel, this period drama follows Emilia Sauri, born into a progressive family during the Mexican Revolution. The series weaves personal growth through political upheaval, exploring how intimate relationships mirror national transformation during one of Mexico’s most violent eras.

Supernova: Genesis—Netflix Goes Live

Marking Netflix’s first live event in Latin America, Supernova: Genesis broadcasts from Arena Ciudad de México on April 26, 2026. Following the influencer boxing trend, the event features YouTubers, celebrities, and comedians facing off, plus live performances from artists like Carín León.
