Marvel’s X-Men Reboot Adds Gen V Star Asa Germann as Angel

Marvel’s star-studded X-Men reboot just got another exciting addition. Gen V actor Asa Germann has officially joined the cast as Angel, adding fresh talent to an already impressive ensemble of mutants set to headline the MCU’s next big superhero relaunch.

What’s Been Confirmed

Germann will play Warren Worthington III, better known as Angel — a winged mutant capable of flight, first introduced by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in X-Men #1 back in 1963. He joins a cast revealed by Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige at last month’s D23 convention, featuring Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, and Maya Boyd as Storm.

Why This Casting Matters

Angel has appeared on screen before, played by Ben Foster and Cayden Boyd in X-Men: The Last Stand, and later by Ben Hardy as the character’s darker alter ego, Archangel, in X-Men: Apocalypse. For Germann, the role marks a major leap following his breakout performance as Sam Riordan in Gen V, the Emmy-nominated Boys spin-off that was canceled after two seasons. Landing a role in Marvel’s flagship mutant reboot puts him alongside an ensemble stacked with rising stars and established names, signaling just how ambitious this new take on the X-Men aims to be.
