Marvel Rivals Teases Colossus and Juggernaut as Future Characters

Marvel Rivals sneakily confirmed Colossus and Juggernaut as upcoming Vanguard characters during a Season 6 developer spotlight, with Deadpool directly mentioning both X-Men characters will join the roster as tank-class heroes.

Deadpool Drops Subtle Character Confirmation

During the Season 6 developer spotlight, Deadpool discussed being Marvel Rivals’ only multi-class character before adding, “And Colossus and Juggernaut will lose their minds knowing I’m going to be a Vanguard first.” While NetEase Games hasn’t provided official release windows, the specific mention and class designation suggests both characters are actively in development.

Confirmed and Rumored Marvel Rivals Characters

Why Vanguard Makes Perfect Sense

Both Colossus and Juggernaut fit the Vanguard archetype naturally. Colossus’s organic steel form provides massive damage resistance and superhuman strength, making him ideal for frontline tanking and zone control. Juggernaut’s unstoppable momentum and mystically-enhanced durability through the Cyttorak gem create similar gameplay opportunities.

The Vanguard role typically features high health pools, damage mitigation abilities, and crowd control tools—all characteristics that align with these characters’ comic book power sets. Expect Colossus to feature abilities around steel transformation and grappling, while Juggernaut likely emphasizes unstoppable charges and area denial.

Season 6.5 Brings Elsa Bloodstone First

Before X-Men fans get Colossus and Juggernaut, Elsa Bloodstone joins as the next confirmed playable character in Season 6.5. The monster hunter from the Bloodstone family expands Marvel Rivals’ supernatural representation, though her specific class and abilities remain under wraps.

Growing Roster of Teased Characters

Cyclops remains the most heavily teased character from previous seasons, appearing directly in the Season 5 trailer. His eventual arrival seems inevitable given the prominence of that tease. Other characters with strong hints include Devil Dinosaur (background artwork), Black Cat (Gallery Card), and White Fox (Gallery Card).

Datamining has uncovered potential additions like Nightcrawler, Jubilee, Armor, Captain Marvel, Forge, Howard the Duck, Hive, and Amaranth. Voice lines and file references suggest these characters are in various stages of development, though none have received official confirmation.

X-Men Representation Expands

With Storm, Psylocke, and Magik already playable, plus the three Deadpool variants now available in Season 6, X-Men characters maintain strong representation in Marvel Rivals. Adding Colossus and Juggernaut (technically X-Men adjacent through his numerous team-ups) further solidifies the mutant presence across all three character classes.

The absence of core X-Men like Cyclops, Wolverine, and Jean Grey remains conspicuous, suggesting NetEase is spacing out major mutant releases to maintain player excitement across multiple seasons rather than front-loading fan favorites.

What’s Next for Marvel Rivals

Season 7’s roster remains speculative, but the combination of teased characters, datamined discoveries, and comic book popularity suggests the pool of potential additions runs deep. Whether NetEase prioritizes X-Men, Avengers, cosmic heroes, or street-level characters will define the game’s evolving meta and appeal to different Marvel fan demographics.

Full character reveals typically arrive 2-3 weeks before season launches, meaning Season 7 details should surface by late February or early March 2026.
