Manu Bhaker’s remarkable achievements at the Paris Olympics 2024 have not only made her a national hero but have also opened the door to significant rewards and recognition.

With two bronze medals already in her collection from the 10m air pistol and 10m air pistol mixed team events, the young shooter is on the verge of adding another medal to her tally in the 25m air pistol event.

How old is Manu Bhaker?

Beyond the thrill of her victories, Bhaker’s fans are now eager to know the extent of the rewards she will receive for her outstanding performance.

Predicting the Prize Money for Manu Bhaker’s Twin Medals

Manu Bhaker’s historic feat of winning two medals in a single Olympics edition places her in an elite category among Indian athletes. At just 22 years old, she has already secured her legacy. To gauge the potential prize money Bhaker might receive, it’s instructive to look back at the rewards bestowed upon Neeraj Chopra following his gold medal triumph at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Chopra received a staggering Rs 6 crore from the Haryana government, a class 1 state government job, and additional cash prizes from various state governments and organizations, totaling around Rs 12 crore.

Given Bhaker’s dual achievements, it’s reasonable to estimate that her rewards could amount to at least half of Chopra’s total, potentially reaching Rs 7 crore. Furthermore, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) will contribute Rs 50 lakh for each bronze medal, adding another Rs 1 crore to her prize money. The generosity of the Haryana government, known for rewarding its champion athletes handsomely, remains to be seen but is expected to be substantial.

Significant Contributions from Organizations and Corporations

Beyond government rewards, several corporations and organizations are likely to step forward to honor Bhaker’s achievements. In the past, companies like BYJU’s and Indigo Airlines have offered significant rewards to Olympic medalists. For instance, Chopra received Rs 2 crore from BYJU’s and a year of free travel from Indigo Airlines. Bhaker’s stellar performance is expected to attract similar offers, enhancing her financial gains and providing opportunities for brand endorsements and sponsorships.

Manu Bhaker’s Continued Excellence in the 25m Air Pistol Event

On August 2, 2024, Bhaker continued her impressive form by finishing second in the women’s 25m pistol qualification, with a total score of 590 out of a possible 600. Her precision and rapid shooting scores of 294 and 296, respectively, secured her place in the finals, set to take place on Saturday at 1 pm. This performance not only bolsters her chances of winning a third medal but also further cements her reputation as one of India’s finest shooters.
