Some films open big and sink. Mandaadi is doing the opposite: it started steady, picked up speed and is now racing toward a milestone.

What the Numbers Really Say?
The first weekend did the heavy lifting, and Day 4 was the biggest of all at Rs 14.50 crore. After a weekday dip, the second weekend bounced back with Rs 9.25 crore on Sunday.

The second Wednesday saw a 55% drop from the previous day. That is normal for a film in week two and doesn’t change the bigger picture.
Trade tracking calls it a Super HIT. It needs about Rs 7.25 crore more to hit Rs 100 crore, and Pinkvilla expects that by the end of its third Sunday.
What’s the Story?
Muthukaali, a former champion sailboat racer, returns to his coastal village after years away. A young racer named Maari asks him to train a local crew for the festival boat race against his old friend turned rival, Sattapuli.
It is a classic underdog tale of redemption, and it clearly works. The film stars Soori and Suhas, with Mahima Nambiar and Sathyaraj in key roles.
