From Westeros to the MCU: Marvel’s Game of Thrones Takeover Hits No. 9

Marvel keeps recruiting from Westeros. At NYCC 2026, Marvel Studios confirmed that Finn Jones will return as Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist, in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. That makes him the ninth Game of Thrones actor to join a Marvel Studios project as a superhero, according to The Direct.

Why Jones’s Return Matters?

Jones played Ser Loras Tyrell in the original HBO series. He’s no stranger to Marvel, having starred in Netflix’s Iron Fist, but this is his first Marvel Studios project. He’ll join Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter and Mike Colter, which fans have taken as the long-awaited Defenders reunion.

Who Has a Future, and Who Doesn’t?

Not every Westeros alum is guaranteed a comeback.

• Pascal, Quinn and John-Kamen look the safest, with all three tied to Avengers: Doomsday.
• Harington’s future is uncertain now that the Blade project has been put on ice.
• Madden’s Ikaris flew into the sun, which leaves little room for a return.
• Clarke’s Secret Invasion role is in limbo after the show’s lukewarm reception.
