Lyra Valkyria’s Controversial Response

As news of the releases spread, Lyra Valkyria, the reigning WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, took to social media with a response that quickly went viral. In a tweet that blurred the lines between kayfabe and reality, Valkyria exclaimed:

“Good Riddance. We’re FREE! Unfortunately she’s indestructible and after coming all the way from hell i doubt she’ll stop here. Good luck to the next locker room, you’ll always know when she’s in the room.. or even in the building…you’ll hear her before you see her #90days”

This statement, particularly directed at Isla Dawn, showcased Valkyria’s commitment to her on-screen persona while addressing real-world events.

Unpacking Valkyria’s Words

Valkyria’s tweet offers several layers of intrigue:

1. In-Character Rivalry: The “Good Riddance” opener suggests a continuation of Valkyria and Dawn’s on-screen feud, even as Dawn exits the company.
2. Respect in Disguise: Despite the harsh words, Valkyria’s comment about Dawn being “indestructible” could be interpreted as a nod to her colleague’s resilience.
3. Industry Insight: The mention of “#90days” refers to the standard non-compete clause in WWE contracts, showing Valkyria’s awareness of the business side of wrestling.
4. Locker Room Dynamics: Valkyria’s quip about Dawn’s presence in the locker room provides a rare glimpse into the backstage atmosphere and relationships between wrestlers.

The Impact on WWE’s Women’s Division

With Isla Dawn’s departure, the landscape of WWE’s women’s division is set to change. Lyra Valkyria, as the Women’s Intercontinental Champion, now stands at the forefront of this evolving roster. Her strong character work, both in the ring and on social media, positions her as a key player in WWE’s future storylines.

• Isla Dawn’s “indestructible” nature, as referenced by Valkyria, hints at a potentially quick bounce back in another promotion.
• The Authors of Pain and Paul Ellering could be a valuable addition to any tag team division.
• The Good Brothers have a history of success in multiple promotions, suggesting they’ll land on their feet.
