Lenovo IdeaPad Vibe Leaked: Apple’s MacBook Neo shook up the budget laptop segment by bringing genuine build quality to a low price point — and the Windows side of the industry is clearly done sitting on the sidelines. Leaked renders reveal Lenovo’s answer: the IdeaPad Vibe, a colorful new laptop built to go head-to-head with Apple’s cheapest Mac yet.

Lenovo IdeaPad Vibe Leaked: Seven Colors, One Clear Target

According to leaked marketing renders obtained by Windows Latest, the IdeaPad Vibe will come in seven colorways — pink, yellow, orange-brown, green, navy blue, silver, and teal — each with a matching Lenovo logo on the lid, while the keyboard deck stays dark gray across every variant. It’s a direct answer to the MacBook Neo’s own playful color lineup, which reportedly pushed ASUS’s CFO to publicly acknowledge the whole Windows PC ecosystem is now discussing how to compete with Apple’s entry-level Mac. Two Chip Options: AMD or Snapdragon

Filenames attached to the leaked material point to at least two hardware variants — one built around a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, the other using an AMD processor, likely paired with an integrated APU to keep costs in check. Exact processor models haven’t surfaced yet, so specifics remain unclear for now.

Where Lenovo Beats Apple: Ports

This is where the IdeaPad Vibe pulls ahead on paper. The MacBook Neo ships with just two USB-C ports and a headphone jack — full stop. Lenovo’s design packs in HDMI, a microSD card reader, and a mix of USB-A and USB-C ports, a meaningfully more versatile setup for anyone who still relies on external displays, memory cards, or older accessories. For a full breakdown of the MacBook Neo’s own specs and pricing, Apple’s official MacBook page remains the best reference point.

Rough Timing for the Whole Industry

The IdeaPad Vibe is arriving during a genuinely difficult stretch for budget laptops. The success of the $599 MacBook Neo triggered a wave of competitive pricing across Windows OEMs, but that’s colliding head-on with a global memory chip shortage that’s driving component costs up industry-wide — the same pressure we’ve covered hitting smartphone pricing in our technology news coverage. Apple itself has already raised the Neo’s price by $100 to absorb rising memory costs, and Windows manufacturers are facing the identical squeeze.

What’s Still Unknown

Lenovo hasn’t confirmed the IdeaPad Vibe officially, so pricing, exact release timing, and full specifications remain unclear. Given the segment it’s targeting, expect it to land in a similar bracket to the MacBook Neo once official details surface.
