Lenovo announces Legion Slim 7 Gaming Laptop

Lenovo’s latest venture into the world of slim gaming laptops has led to them releasing the Legion Slim 7 at CES 2021. The model boasts of a  15.6-inch display – available in FHD at 165 Hz or 4K at 60 Hz. According to Lenovo, the former has a 3 ms response time with overdrive enabled, a peak brightness of 300 nits, and covers 100% of the sRGB color space. 

Meanwhile, the 4K option is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified and can reach a brightness of 500 nits. The latter also covers 100% of the AdobeRGB color space. Both panels are IPS and support Dolby Vision.

Consumers can expect an 8-core Ryzen 7 5000 series APUs and NVIDIA’s latest GeForce RTX GPUs. Moreover, the Legion Slim 7 will be configurable with up to 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM and a 2 TB M.2 NVMe SSD. 

A full charging period for the Legion 7 should make the system last for about 8 hours on an estimate. In addition to the included 230W charging adapter that can be found in the box, the new offering can also be powered by a 95W Type-C charging cable.

The laptop measures 356 mm wide, 252 mm deep and 18.9 mm tall at its thickest point. However, its chassis tapers to 15.9 mm. The system is expected to be quite portable, weighing in at 1.9 kgs. The body is reportedly built out of aluminum. 

A fingerprint reader is expected to be available on the power button to increase security. Two variants of the Legion Slim 7 are expected to be released, one in Storm Grey and the other in Shadow Black.
