The Story
Gong Eun-Tae leads Sales Team 5 at Hongseong International, having lived fiercely his entire life to have an ordinary life without any trouble, but falls into a slump after realizing all his hard work will end in boredom. One day, he wins the top lottery prize of 1.3 billion won — around $800,000 — money that’s just short of being truly life-changing.

Instead of dramatically overhauling his lifestyle, he chooses to keep living as he used to, but now with an “insurance” he can depend on. Yet winning the lottery gradually and quietly transforms his outlook on life all the same.
Why This Premise Works
There’s something refreshingly grounded about a lottery-winner story that doesn’t spiral into extravagance. >The drama frames the windfall as emotional “insurance” rather than a total life reset, following an ordinary salesman navigating everyday life with a subtly changed perspective. It’s a far cry from typical rags-to-riches fantasies, offering something more relatable for viewers stuck in their own routines.
A Packed September For K-Dramas
The Ordinary Jackpot joins a crowded September slate, airing 10 episodes on Mondays and Tuesdays across both TVING and tvN. Lee Jun-hyuk continues building a diverse filmography, previously drawing praise for his versatile range across various Korean drama projects, and this quietly introspective lead role marks another notable turn for the actor.
