New Leaks Unveil Nintendo Switch 2 Design and Features

New speculation suggests the Nintendo Switch 2 could be confirmed very much early next year. Chris Dring said on this week’s GamesIndustry Microcast that he had heard talk of a possible early January announcement. But he added that this information has not been confirmed. Adding to this, Nintendtalk claimed that insiders at big third-party developers are also expecting a reveal in January. According to Samus Hunter, the announcement could have been pushed forward to early January likely due to the recent accessory leaks before Donkey Kong Country Returns HD releases on January 16th. Nevertheless, since none of these sources are confirmed, this information should be handled with care.

New Nintendo Switch 2 Leaks Showcase Design, Ports, and Features as Fans Await Official Announcement

Then, over the weekend, new leaks emerged that gave a closer look at the Nintendo Switch 2’s exactly what are those small two features and design. Provided by a Chinese manufacturer, the leaks also include images of some upcoming accessories and show off the back stand, Joy-Con buttons, and the interior of the system’s top.

While the design has been teased in the past, these images give a bit more context, but it’s still not clear whether this is what the final product will look like. The leaks also detailed the system’s ports via a Chinese leaker who previously mocked up CAD models using prototypes received from an accessory manufacturer. These models offer insights into the potential purpose of the ports on the console’s top and bottom.

Reddit user Fidler_2k reposted these images, further breaking down their details on the Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit. The growing number of leaks highlights the excitement surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2. According to Paul Gate, attendees of The Game Awards after-party expressed positive impressions of the console, with some hinting at confirmed third-party support. Despite the buzz, Nintendo has yet to officially announce the system, leaving fans eager for confirmation.
