DC’s Fifth Multi-Season Show

Krypto Saves the Day Season 2 debuted on September 10, with a second episode on October 8. These non-canon shorts, streaming on HBO Max and the DC Kids YouTube channel, join Peacemaker, My Adventures with Superman, Harley Quinn and Batman: Caped Crusader as DC Studios’s multi-season shows. It’s also the first show launched under Gunn and Safran’s leadership to get a second season.

Where Does Lanterns Season 2 Stand?

The eight-week HBO series ended with John Stewart facing his fear and becoming Green Lantern, in a way. Aaron Pierre will return as the character in Man of Tomorrow, and fan demand for more is growing.

Behind the scenes, showrunner Chris Mundy told The Hollywood Reporter in August that the writers’ room was about six weeks into planning Season 2. By early October, that was closer to 13 weeks. A Puck report also says HBO executives hope to continue the show, so a renewal likely comes once the pitch is finished. For more DCU updates, visit Techno Sports.

What Might Change?

Damon Lindelof and Tom King have left the show, and Mundy has built a new writers’ room. Many fans want a more space-heavy Green Lantern story, but Mundy has warned that the series will stay mostly grounded on Earth.

Creature Commandos: The first fully canon DCU show to be renewed, with a 10-episode Season 2 in 2027. Dean Lorey takes over writing from Gunn.
Peacemaker: Gunn said Season 3 wasn’t planned, but Jennifer Holland hinted it could happen after other DCU events.
The People v Gorilla Grodd: A true-crime-style show now filming in Atlanta, which could shift to a new supervillain each season.

Conclusion

A Lanterns renewal looks likely, even if it isn’t official. With a writers’ room already at work and HBO reportedly eager, fans may not have to wait long. Check back with Techno Sports for the latest.
