Batman fans have been waiting a long time for Robert Pattinson’s return. The Batman Part II is now set for February 18, 2028, and its release date has already moved four times. Director Matt Reeves also recently paused shooting to attend to a family matter. So DC is feeding the hunger with something else: a gritty new animated Batman movie and its first poster.

Batman: The New Poster

DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation unveiled a motion poster for Batman: Knightfall Part 2: Knightquest, the middle chapter of the animated Batman: Knightfall trilogy. It shows Jean-Paul Valley, better known as Azrael, in a blue and gold armored suit with glowing red eyes, trading blows with Bane against a dark Gotham skyline. The artwork also doubles as cover art for the film’s eventual 4K Blu-ray release.

Why is Azrael wearing the suit? In the story, Bane breaks Bruce Wayne’s back in Batman: Knightfall Part 1, which premiered at Annecy in June and hit digital on August 25 to strong reviews.

What We Know About The Batman Part II?

Nothing here is confirmed, but the rumor mill is busy. Reports say Sebastian Stan could play Harvey Dent, while competing reports suggest he’s Victor Zsasz and Brian Tyree Henry is Dent. Scarlett Johansson is rumored as Gilda Dent, Harvey’s wife. Poison Ivy and the Court of Owls have also been mentioned, and set photos hinted at the Court. Set photos also suggest a snowy Gotham this time, and Pattinson was seen on his Drifter bike investigating a mystery.

Confirmed returning cast includes Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, Jayme Lawson and Gil Perez-Abraham, with newcomers Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry and Sebastian Koch.
