What Is KPop Demon Hunters About?
The movie follows a world-famous pop-superstar trio who balance their grueling idol schedules with secretly protecting humanity from demonic forces. Powered by killer style, jaw-dropping action sequences, and an infectious soundtrack — it’s the kind of film that sounds wonderfully absurd on paper and somehow delivers on every level. The fictional girl group HUNTR/X — Rumi, Mira, and Zoey — became so beloved that they crossed over into real-world pop culture phenomenon territory.
How Big Did It Get?
Massive doesn’t even cover it. KPop Demon Hunters shattered viewership records to become Netflix’s most popular film of all time, also taking home two Academy Awards and a Grammy, cementing the fictional girl group HUNTR/X as a legitimate real-world pop culture phenomenon. It’s also confirmed for a future Criterion Collection release — a seal of cinematic prestige very few animated films ever earn.
