For over two decades, the couch, the hamper and the rapid-fire round have defined Bollywood gossip. Now the cups are being washed for the last time, but reports suggest Karan Johar may already be planning his next act.

Koffee With Karan: Big Question

Koffee With Karan Season 9 is set to be the final season of the celebrity chat show. A report by Mid-Day suggests Karan may launch a fresh talk show where his own production banner would hold the rights. That ownership angle is reportedly one reason behind ending the current format and exploring a new one.

What’s Confirmed and What Isn’t?

Point	Status
Season 9 is the last	Confirmed via an official teaser
New chat show	Reported by Mid-Day, not confirmed
Streaming platform	Unknown
Launch timeline	Unknown
Format	Unknown, though a broad concept is reportedly ready
Ownership	Reportedly with Karan’s production banner

Neither Karan nor the makers have officially confirmed a new show, so treat it as a strong rumour for now.

The Emotional Teaser

The Season 9 promo is what made fans sit up. In it, Karan gets emotional as he recalls pitching the chat show idea to his father, Yash Johar, in 2004. His father passed away soon after, while the show went on to become a long-running part of his career.

He also reflects on how the programme has kept the word “nepotism” attached to his name, remembers guests who were once couples (some married, others parted), and jokes that the show nearly ended a few national icons’ careers. The teaser closes with him inviting viewers to share one last cup of coffee.

A Show That Shaped Pop Culture

Koffee With Karan became known for candid conversations, playful banter and confessions that often turned into headlines. The first six seasons aired on Star World India between 2004 and 2019, and the show later moved to OTT, reaching a wider digital audience. Few Indian talk shows have stayed this relevant for so long.
