What’s the Story?

Based on a novel by “The Killer’s Shopping List” author Kang Ji Young, “A Shop for Killers” follows Jeong Ji An, who moves in with her uncle Jeong Jin Man after her parents’ passing. When he suddenly dies, Ji An inherits his secret and dangerous legacy, becoming the target of suspicious killers herself. Season 2 picks up with Ji An now the shopping mall’s new CEO, joining forces with a very-much-alive Jin Man to fight back against the global forces of Babylon.

From Survivor to Killer

The newly released stills capture Ji An’s dramatic transformation — from a girl once struggling to survive attacks without understanding why, into a charismatic, authoritative owner of Murthehelp. Some images show her facing tense, urgent situations with facial injuries, while others capture her cautiously scanning her surroundings between door cracks. One particularly striking still shows her in a black suit with a cold, commanding expression.

Kim Hye Joon herself teased the shift, explaining that while Season 1 showed Ji An as more of a girl, Season 2 leans into her killer instincts. She also revealed she trained extensively in tactics and stances to deliver more varied gun action this season — a claim backed by action director Jeon Jae Hyung, who praised her transformation into a fully accomplished action performer.

Why This Season Is a Big Deal

Escalating from a survival thriller into an all-out war against an expanded criminal syndicate is a bold narrative swing, and pairing that with Kim Hye Joon’s visible physical transformation sets high expectations. With a tight eight-episode run and a twice-weekly release, it’s built for binge-worthy momentum.
