Big-budget epics love their surprises, but sometimes the most honest update is the best one. Kajal Aggarwal has now confirmed exactly how much screen time she’ll get in Ramayana, the massive two-part film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash — and it’s less than fans may have hoped for Part One.

What Kajal Aggarwal Said

Speaking about playing Mandodari, Kajal Aggarwal clarified that since Lanka has a smaller presence in the first installment, her role is naturally limited in this part. She was quick to add that being part of a project of this scale has still been a deeply meaningful experience. She also praised co-star Yash, calling him a dedicated, professional, and hugely talented performer to work alongside.

Ramayana: Overview

Why This Matters

Ramayana is being positioned as one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious adaptations of the ancient Sanskrit epic it’s based on, told across two theatrical chapters a full year apart. With Mandodari’s story more closely tied to the Lanka arc, it makes sense that her presence grows in the second film — meaning fans may see much more of Kajal Aggarwal when Part Two rolls around in 2027.

What’s Next For Kajal Aggarwal

Beyond Ramayana, she has a busy year ahead — a lead role in the drama thriller The India Story, releasing July 24, 2026, and a co-lead spot in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s NBK111, directed by Gopichandh Malineni.
