Crunchyroll revealed five months ago that the hit anime Kaiju No.8 will return for Season 2. Well, this weekend at Jump Festa, we learned the release window for these new episodes: July 2025. While no exact date has been announced, fans at least have an idea of how long they’ll have to wait before returning to the world of giant monsters.

Kaiju No.8 Season 2 Confirmed for July 2025 Release, Plus New Movie and Episode Update
Details of Season 2 are still scarce, but the story will continue after Kafka’s (Masaya Fukunishi in the original, and Nazeeh Tarsha in the English dub) shocking revelation as Kaiju No.8, resulting in his arrest. Kafka was forced to evolve in order to survive, and the options available left him vulnerable or, worse, killed. Now, the Anti-Kaiju Defense Force will have to deal with the aftermath of his fight with Kaiju No.2. As Mina (voiced in the original by Asami Seto, and in English by Katelyn Barr) pointed out, kaiju will keep attacking, and Kafka’s powers will only work in their favor.
Although Season 1 appeared to tie up the bulk of the conflict, fans are left wondering what comes next. The biggest threat we can expect in Season 2 will be Kaiju No.9, but the powers of the creature are a mystery. But for fans who can’t wait, manga, ahead of the anime is up to Chapter 119 and shows Kaiju No.9 here long before it appears in the anime. Kaiju No.8 is unusual even for the subgenre of kaiju, in the people it cares about while preparing to go into battle against the giant monster.
Rather than showing destruction, this story centers on a team dedicated to understanding and taking down these beasts. The series is also for fans of anime like Attack on Titan, with Kafka compared to Eren Yeager. Until the new season arrives, fans can watch a compilation movie of Season 1 that will play internationally. It does include a new episode, written by Yuichiro Kido (Dr. Stone), titled “Hoshina’s Day Off.” Kaiju No.8‘s new episodes are set to air in July 2025 on Crunchyroll.
