K-Pop Meets Football: Lisa’s Lee Kang-in Jersey Moment Has Fans Cheering

Sometimes the best crossovers happen without a single word of explanation. On June 12, BLACKPINK’s Lisa posted an Instagram Story showing herself wearing a Paris Saint-Germain jersey bearing the name and number of South Korean midfielder Lee Kang-in — and the internet immediately lit up.

The photo came at the perfect moment: South Korea had just come from behind to beat the Czech Republic 2-1 in their World Cup Group A opener, with Lee Kang-in himself setting up the equalizing goal with a second-half assist. Lisa shared the image with no caption, set to the official World Cup anthem “Goals” — her own collaboration with Anitta and Rema — adding extra buzz just a day before her scheduled performance at the tournament’s opening ceremony.

Why Fans Are Talking

The gesture wasn’t entirely out of nowhere — Lisa and Lee Kang-in share a close personal connection, as he’s reportedly dating her close friend Park Sang-hyo, and the two have been spotted cheering him on together before. Still, the timing turned a personal show of support into a viral moment, with fans praising Lisa for blending her music career with genuine football fandom right before her own big stage moment.

Lee Kang-in didn’t let the gesture go unnoticed either, reposting Lisa’s story with a grateful “World-Class Support” message — a sweet, mutual celebration that fans across both the K-pop and football worlds couldn’t stop talking about.

The Bigger Picture

This isn’t Lisa’s first football-world moment either — she’s been spotted at PSG matches before and recently became part of Nike’s global football campaign ahead of the World Cup. With her opening ceremony performance and continued ties to football culture, Lisa is quickly becoming one of K-pop’s most visible crossover stars this tournament season.
