Jose Manuel Diaz leaves SC East Bengal after 8 games

SC East Bengal have parted ways with their head coach, Jose Manuel Diaz following the extended winless run for the Red and Gold club. The manager leaves after only eight games in charge, with no wins from any of them.

The news comes from the reliable Indian journalist Marcus Mergulhao, with more details set to follow.

The former Real Madrid Castilla coach was appointed at the start of the season, and was expected to do wonders with the squad. However, things have absolutely not gone according to plan and the two parties have decided to go their separate directions now.

What has gone wrong for Jose Manuel Diaz at SC East Bengal?

Not being able to produce results is one of the first and foremost issues that Jose Manuel Diaz struggled with. The defensive issues were prevalent with every game, and the attacking inconsistencies as well.

They have the worst defensive record in the division, conceding 18 goals from eight games. So, it is quite evident that the team needs a massive facelift if they want to finish in a respectable position.

The squad and the coaching staff are at loggerheads as well, which is considered one of the other main reasons behind the head coach being sacked.

Just like their local rivals, ATK Mohun Bagan, SC East Bengal have become the second club this season to change their manager. The official replacement for Diaz is yet to be announced by the club. They are due to play again in the new year, against Bengaluru FC on January 4th.
