Some villains fade after their debut season. Bale isn’t one of them. Fresh stills from A Shop for Killers 2 show Jo Han Sun back in full menace mode, scars and all, and this time he’s not just dangerous — he’s obsessed.
Based on the novel by “The Killer’s Shopping List” author Kang Ji Young, the action drama follows Jeong Ji An (Kim Hye Joon), who inherits her uncle Jin Man’s (Lee Dong Wook) secret criminal legacy after his sudden death. Season 2 raises the stakes further: Ji An is now the shopping mall’s CEO, and Jin Man — very much alive again — teams up with her to take on the global mercenary network known as Babylon.
What’s Changed For Bale This Season
| Season 1 | Season 2 |
|---|---|
| Pursued only what interested him | Laser-focused on revenge against Jin Man |
| “Lifeless eyes,” detached motives | Driven, relentless, personal vendetta |
| Introduced dagger-fighting style | More refined, “razor-sharp” action sequences |
Jo Han Sun described his character’s evolution simply: Bale now “races forward” with a single target in mind, unlike the wandering menace he played in Season 1. He also confirmed that fans of his signature dagger work won’t be disappointed — he trained extensively to sharpen the choreography even further.

When To Watch on A Shop For Killers 2?
The eight-episode season kicks off with a double premiere on July 22, followed by two new episodes every Wednesday. It’s a tight, binge-friendly release schedule that should keep the revenge plot moving fast without long weekly gaps.
Given how decisively Bale was positioned as Babylon’s key enforcer in Season 1, his return with a personal grudge suggests the Ji An–Jin Man alliance will face its toughest test yet.
