Jo Bo Ah Offered Lee Chung Ah’s Role in The Obedient Killer: What We Know About the Casting Shake-Up

A big casting story is brewing in K-drama land. Reports suggested that Jo Bo Ah had already taken over a leading role after another actress left mid-production, but the full picture is a little more nuanced.

Jo Bo Ah: Overview

What Has Been Confirmed?

On October 2, Jo Bo Ah’s agency addressed the reports directly. The actress recently received a casting offer for the drama and is currently reviewing it. So while headlines suggested a done deal, nothing is official yet.

Why Is the Role Being Recast?

Lee Chung Ah was originally cast as Lee Hwa Ra but had to step down partway through filming. A car accident reportedly aggravated an existing back condition, making it hard for her to handle the drama’s many action scenes. It’s an unfortunate situation, and the production now needs a replacement who can take on the physically demanding part.

What Is The Obedient Killer About?

Set in the 1970s and 1980s, the drama follows a woman whose only goal in life was to become a devoted wife and mother. After her divorce, she takes an unexpected job to make ends meet. The role of Lee Hwa Ra, known by the code name “Miss Lee,” sits at the heart of that story.

What Happens Next?

For now, fans will have to wait for Jo Bo Ah’s decision and any official announcement from the production. In the meantime, you can watch Jo Bo Ah in Military Prosecutor Doberman on Viki. For more casting news, visit our K-drama updates on TechnoSports and our entertainment section.
