Jio might launch an affordable 5G smartphone that will ship with built-in 5G support. The specifications of the JioPhone 5G have already leaked, and we are very close to an official launch.

JioPhone 5G launch date in India is yet to be revealed, but the phone should arrive soon seeing as how the telco is ready to roll out 5G services in October. Leaked firmware reveals its key JioPhone 5G specifications.

JioPhone 5G will feature a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD panel that supports a 90Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by Snapdragon 480 SoC and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging will keep the lights on. There’s a Syntiant NDP115 always-on AI processor onboard.

While Android Central reported that the phone will come with a custom version of Android 11, it will instead come with a newer Android 12 that is not based on Android Go. Further, the phone has a codename ‘ganga’, carries a model number LS1654QB5, and could be launched in partnership with LYF.

JioPhone 5G launch in India seems to be around the corner now that the telco is gearing up to roll out 5G services in the country in October. A recent report suggested that the JioPhone 5G’s price in India will be between Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000.
