Cut the Cable, Keep the Control: JioCarSync Turns Any Wired CarPlay or Android Auto Car Into a Wireless One

JioCarSync is a new 2-in-1 wireless adapter from JioThings — the IoT arm of Jio Platforms — that converts any factory-installed wired Apple CarPlay or Android Auto system into a fully wireless experience. No more fumbling for cables, no more worn-out ports — just plug the adapter into your car’s USB port once and connect wirelessly every time after that.

Why This Actually Matters

Most cars sold in India today come with wired CarPlay or Android Auto — which means every time you get in the car, you need to plug in. The cable wears out, sits at awkward angles on your dashboard, and adds friction to what should be a seamless experience.

JioCarSync eliminates all of that in one thumb-sized device. Plug it into your car’s USB port once, pair your phone, and from the second drive onwards — it connects automatically in about five seconds. Your screen mirrors, your navigation works, your music plays, and your calls go hands-free. All wirelessly.

What Works, What’s Retained

One of the strongest points of JioCarSync is that it doesn’t break anything your car already does well. Steering wheel controls, touchscreen input, built-in microphones, and voice command functionality all continue to work exactly as they did before — the only thing that changes is the absence of a wire.

The 5GHz Wi-Fi connection ensures stable streaming without the dropouts or lag that plagued older wireless adapters, while Bluetooth 5.3 handles the initial pairing and voice commands smoothly.

It also includes a Type-C dongle for cars with USB-C ports — a thoughtful addition that covers newer vehicle models without requiring a separate adapter.

Who Is It For?

JioCarSync is compatible with any vehicle that has factory-installed wired CarPlay or Android Auto — so it won’t work with aftermarket head units that weren’t originally designed for these systems. If your car came with CarPlay or Android Auto built in from the manufacturer, this adapter works for you.

iPhone users need iOS 12 or later. Android users need Android 11 or above. Both are extremely common across current-generation devices, meaning most smartphone owners are already compatible.

OTA software updates mean the device will improve over time without requiring a replacement — a feature that’s standard in smartphones but still genuinely rare in car accessories.

JioThings Expanding Into Everyday Utility

This launch fits a clear pattern for JioThings — building practical, affordable IoT products that solve real everyday friction points for Indian consumers. After trackers and other connected devices, a wireless CarPlay adapter is a natural next step for a brand looking to own the connected car accessory space in India.
