After completing preliminary testing, Jing Jiawei, a Chinese domestic GPU manufacturer, announced that their new JM9 series processors are now available for purchase. The JM9 is designed to meet high-end display requirements as well as AI computing needs in areas like media processing, games, GIS, CAD-based design, and virtualization.

The Eastern manufacturer prompted an institutional survey, which revealed that the JM9 series is in contact with specifically targeted customers and that debugging and optimization will begin in the coming year.

The JM9 chips developed by Jing Jiawei represent a significant step forward for the company. The JM9 GPUs are an example of the company’s performance enhancements as well as key technical reserves aimed at making the business a success. Jing Jiawei has been able to provide excellent product support as well as develop into the general market in the future as a result of this.

The performance of the JM9 will be equal to that of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, according to the graphics processor manufacturer. However, because the JM9 is an entry-level independent display category, according to the current specifications supplied by the firm, it appears that it does not bridge the gap sufficiently to be competitive. The JM9’s FP32 (floating point) performance is only 1.5TFlops, but the GTX 1080 can reach 11.3TFlops, a 6.5-fold difference.

The JM9 features an 8GB memory capacity and a bandwidth rate of 128GB/s. According to the website MyDrivers, the positioning width is roughly 128 bits, however, this is only a guess at the moment.

The corresponding frequency is 8GHz, which is the same as a GDDR5 memory module. It’s also speculated that if the frequency had been 16GHz at 64-bit width, the JM9 would have been classified as GDDR6, but according to the company’s specs, it’s leaning significantly towards GDDR5 equivalency.

Jing Jiawei’s JM9 GPU will support both 2D and 3D graphics, as well as video codecs, multi-channel video output, and compatibility with a variety of platforms and systems. For display with H.265/4K 60FPS encoding, the GPU will have HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.3 outputs. OpenGL 4.5 and OpenCL 2.0 APIs will also be supported.

There is no mention of DirectX support. The power consumption is only 30W, which is on the low end of the spectrum. It appears that the JM9 chips will initially be produced for the entry-level market, with more higher-end SKUs planned later.
