Jay Cartwright Ties the Knot? First Look at “The Inbetweeners 3” Reveals a Massive Wedding Twist

The ultimate exaggerator finally lands the girl. Fans of Britain’s most awkward foursome are getting their first real proof — and it comes with a mullet, a three-piece suit, and an entire church full of extras.

Fresh set photos from “The Inbetweeners 3” reveal that production is officially underway in the UK, with new images confirming a massive wedding storyline centered on none other than Jay Cartwright himself.

What We Know So Far on The Inbetweeners 3?

The Wedding That’s Breaking the Internet

Set photos captured at a picturesque English countryside church show James Buckley back as Jay Cartwright, sporting a dramatic mullet with shaved sides and a sharp tan three-piece suit — every bit as over-the-top as fans would expect. Simon Bird returns as Will McKenzie in full formal wear, clutching a stack of papers that strongly hints he’s serving as Best Man, likely setting up for another cringe-worthy speech.

Joe Thomas was also spotted on set as a visibly nervous Simon Cooper, dressed in a traditional grey morning suit. Confirming earlier casting news, Emily Head makes her return as Carli D’Amato, Simon’s long-running love interest, photographed in a striking pink and gold chevron gown outside the church.

Who Is the Bride?

The biggest reveal comes from newcomer Marina Bye, spotted arriving in a traditional white gown with a veil and tiara. A close-up of an order of service booklet reading “THE WEDDING PARTY” alongside the initials “J & A” all but confirms this is Jay’s wedding — a genuinely surprising twist for a character famous for constantly lying about his romantic conquests.

Adding to the intrigue, several American actors were cast in supporting wedding-party roles, suggesting Jay’s long-running joke about having a glamorous American girlfriend may have finally become reality.

Why This Matters for the Franchise?

“The Inbetweeners” remains one of the most beloved entries in British sitcom history, known for turning everyday teenage awkwardness into iconic comedy. With original creators Beesley and Morris returning to write and direct, this wedding storyline signals the film aims to preserve that same painfully authentic humor while giving the characters real emotional stakes nearly two decades after the show first began.
