DC fans, buckle up — Jason Momoa is officially trading the ocean for outer space, and it sounds absolutely wild. The former Aquaman star is stepping into the boots of Lobo, DC’s most unhinged interstellar bounty hunter, in the highly anticipated Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, releasing June 26, 2026. And if his behind-the-scenes stories are any indication, this film is going to be something else entirely.

“There’s a Fireball Up My Ass” — Momoa’s Chaotic First Stunt Day
Let’s be real — nobody describes a stunt day quite like Jason Momoa. In an exclusive chat with PinkVilla, he recalled his first day of action on Lobo’s iconic Spacehog (his custom space motorcycle), and it was every bit as gloriously messy as you’d hope.
The Spacehog is essentially a rocket-powered e-bike, and the braking system works opposite to a normal bike — right hand brakes, not throttle. Add in actual fireballs, a crane pushing toward him, and the requirement to pull out a cigar, hit his mark, and deliver dialogue simultaneously… yeah. Not your average Tuesday.

Momoa compared it to his Aquaman days, where he had to drop through a body-width ceiling hole and land perfectly — blind. Same energy, different planet.
Working alongside stunt coordinator Rob Inch and his team, Momoa said everyone was equally hampered — his stunt crew was fully armored up as Lobo’s gang, the Brigands, so the chaos was a team sport.
Who Is Lobo? And Why Momoa Is Perfect for This Role
Lobo is a DC Comics character known as the last Czarnian — a near-immortal, ultra-violent space mercenary with a dark sense of humour and zero filter. Sound familiar? Momoa practically is Lobo in real life.
Directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya), the film follows Kara Zor-El — Superman’s cousin — as she confronts a ruthless adversary in a story rich with cosmic mythology. Lobo’s introduction promises to be one of the film’s standout moments.
