Team Form Going In
Jamshedpur FC’s recent results paint a mixed picture — a 4-1 thrashing of Chennaiyin FC and a 2-0 win over FC Goa show attacking sharpness, but a scoreless draw with Odisha FC and a narrow loss to Bengaluru FC suggest inconsistency. Notably, the side has scored 6 goals across their last 5 outings, though they’ve gone quiet in front of goal in their two most recent matches — a stat worth watching heading into Sunday.
Defenders FC arrive as the tournament’s plucky challengers, and while detailed form data is limited, Durand Cup fixtures like this are exactly where lower-league sides make their name against ISL opposition.
Prediction
Jamshedpur FC’s squad depth and Durand Cup experience make them favourites on paper, but their recent goal drought means Defenders FC won’t be brushed aside easily. Expect a cagey opening before Jamshedpur’s class shows — a narrow win for the home favourites feels likely, though an upset can’t be ruled out.
