Jakub Kiwior to sign for Arsenal for €20 million

Arsenal are set to complete a transfer for Jakub Kiwior from Serie A club Spezia in the coming days. The contracts have been exchanged between the two clubs, and it is now only a matter of time before the deal is announced officially.

The fee for the player is worth €20 million including add-ons, and there is an agreement in terms of personal terms. Kiwior will sign a five-year contract with the Premier League club – and the medical will be complete within the coming day for the switch to go through.

Jakub Kiwior to sign for Arsenal from Spezia

Kiwior is a Poland international and plays as a centre-back. He has played 61 games and started 17 of Spezia’s 18 competitive matches in 2022-23. And only a year and a half after entering one of Europe’s top five leagues, he is set to join arguably the toughest league in the world.

Interestingly, he is a left-footed centre-back who can play as a left-back or a defensive midfielder.

One of the main reasons behind the arrival of Jakub Kiwior, however, is to provide cover for Gabriel Magalhaes. The Brazilian has barely made a mistake during the 2022/23 season, as Arsenal are at the top of the league. As it stands, he might not be entitled to a starting position already, but could come on as a rotational option under Mikel Arteta.
