From Frankenstein to 007

According to a January 23 ShowBiz report, Jacob Elordi has reportedly met with director Denis Villeneuve and the film’s producers for advanced discussions about taking on the legendary spy role. This comes on the heels of his Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for portraying The Creature in Netflix’s Frankenstein.

The timing couldn’t be better for Elordi, who’s competing against Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, Delroy Lindo, and Stellan Skarsgård in the Best Supporting Actor category. His Oscar nod not only validates his talent but also positions him as a serious contender for one of cinema’s most prestigious franchises.

A Crowded Field of Contenders

While Elordi emerges as a frontrunner, he faces stiff competition from other talented actors. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Callum Turner have both been mentioned as strong possibilities, alongside Anthony Boyle, Leo Suter, Harris Dickinson, Regé-Jean Page, and Idris Elba.

The Amazon reboot brings together an impressive creative team, with Dune’s Denis Villeneuve directing and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight handling screenplay duties. This combination promises a fresh, sophisticated take on Ian Fleming’s iconic character.

From Euphoria to Espionage

Jacob Elordi has built an impressive résumé beyond his breakout roles in The Kissing Booth and Euphoria. His performances in critically acclaimed films like Saltburn and Priscilla showcase his range and depth as an actor—qualities essential for bringing complexity to the Bond character.

Next up, Elordi stars opposite Margot Robbie in Emerald Fennell’s erotic adaptation Wuthering Heights, eyeing a Valentine’s Day 2026 release. The project further cements his status as one of Hollywood’s most sought-after leading men.
