iQOO 15 Official Teaser: Gaming Beast Specs Revealed

iQOO has officially confirmed the name of its upcoming flagship—the iQOO 15—skipping the unlucky number 14 entirely. Teased at ChinaJoy 2025, this gaming-focused smartphone promises to deliver flagship performance with specs that will make mobile gamers drool.

iQOO 15: Why No iQOO 14?

Chinese brands frequently skip the number “4” due to cultural superstitions, as it sounds similar to “death” in Chinese. iQOO previously jumped from iQOO 3 to iQOO 5, making this naming pattern consistent with their approach.

Key Specifications Breakdown

Gaming-First Approach

The iQOO 15 Ultra takes mobile gaming seriously with dedicated gaming triggers, built-in cooling fan, and ultrasonic fingerprint technology. The massive 7,000mAh+ battery addresses every gamer’s nightmare—running out of power mid-game.

Marketing Strategy at ChinaJoy 2025

iQOO launched an innovative “experience officer” recruitment campaign, offering early access to hardcore fans in exchange for honest reviews. At the expo, they organized a 5v5 Honor of Kings tournament where winners receive the new iQOO 15 upon launch.

Competition and Market Positioning

Unlike mainstream flagships targeting casual users, iQOO 15 specifically targets performance enthusiasts who prioritize:

• Zero lag gaming with optimized frame rates
• Thermal management for extended gaming sessions
• High refresh rate displays for competitive advantage
• Long battery life for marathon gaming

The phone will compete directly with upcoming releases from OnePlus, Pixel, and OPPO when it launches globally.

Expected Launch Timeline

The iQOO 15 series is expected to debut in China by October 2025, following last year’s iQOO 13 release pattern. Global availability should follow shortly after the Chinese launch.
