iPhone 12 Mini supports 12W MagSafe wireless charging whereas the Others support 15W

After the launch of the iPhone 12 series, MagSafe has also launched its wireless charging devices for the iPhone 12 models. According to some reports, in the case of MagSafe wireless charging, iPhone 12 mini will support only 12W of charging whereas the other models of the iPhone 12 series will go up to 15W of charging. This news is confirmed by a new Apple support page.

Now let’s talk about the battery capacities. As per the report, the iPhone 12 mini has a battery capacity of 2,227mAH. In comparison with the iPhone SE (2020), the battery of the iPhone 12 mini is quite bigger. The iPhone SE (2020) has a battery capacity of 1,821mAH.

On the other hand, iPhone 12 is fueled up by a 2,815mAH battery. But unfortunately, it is lesser than the battery capacity of the iPhone 11 that is 3,110mAH.

“As with other wireless chargers, your iPhone or MagSafe Charger might get slightly warmer while your iPhone charges. To extend the lifespan of your battery, if the battery gets too warm, the software might limit charging above 80 percent,” Apple says.

As per the confirmation, the iPhone 12 mini can get charged up to 12W wireless charging with a minimum capacity of a 9V/2.03A adapter. In the case of the other iPhone 12 models, the adapter capacity is 9V/2.56A or more.

If you connect Bluetooth headphones to charge them with the MagSafe wireless charging, the charging speeds of up to 7.5W only.

Moreover, if you are using your iPhone 12 with an external case, then the case must have MagSafe compatibility to make it charged wirelessly. As per the company. the MagSafe compatible cases must have a uniform maximum thickness of 2.1mm (2.0mm thickness can be ideal). If you connect your iPhone to a MagSafe charger as well as to a Lightning port, then the device will get charged by the Lightning connector. As iPhone 12 series has a magnetic rear panel, these magnetic rear strips may get damaged by excessive wireless charging.
