iOS 19 Leak Reveals Major Update: No Circular Icons, VisionOS-Inspired Translucent Glass Effects Coming

iOS 19 Leak: Apple’s annual WWDC 2025 event is around the corner, and leaks about iOS 19 are already making headlines. Initially expected to be a minor update, recent information from trusted sources like Mark Gurman and Jon Prosser suggests that iOS 19 will deliver a major visual overhaul.

While many speculated that Apple would adopt Pixel-like circular icons, Prosser’s latest leak confirms that iOS 19 will stick with the classic rounded square icons. However, the biggest change will be the VisionOS-inspired translucent glass effects, giving the entire iOS interface a refreshed and modern look.

iOS 19 Leak Reveals Major UI Overhaul: No Circular Icons, VisionOS-Like Translucent Glass Effects Coming

No Circular Icons—Classic iOS Style Stays

Earlier rumors hinted that iOS 19 would introduce circular icons similar to Google’s Pixel UI, but Jon Prosser’s latest leak has debunked this. According to Prosser, Apple will retain the familiar square-shaped app icons with rounded edges, ensuring that the Home Screen maintains its signature look. This consistency aligns with Apple’s desire to maintain a clean and recognizable interface for users.

VisionOS-Inspired Translucent Glass Effects Across UI

While icon changes may be off the table, Apple is introducing a translucent glass effect across the entire interface, inspired by VisionOS. This means:

• Pop-ups and menus will feature hazy, color-bleeding effects.
• Keyboard and Messages app will showcase subtle transparency that blends beautifully with the background.
• A deeper visual connection between interface elements will give iOS a more immersive and futuristic feel.

Redesigned Stock Keyboard With Translucent Elements

iOS 19 isn’t just about visuals—the stock keyboard is also getting a facelift. Prosser claims that the new keyboard will sport translucent keys with some subtle but meaningful changes in design and responsiveness. This change aims to enhance the typing experience while maintaining Apple’s signature simplicity.

Messages App Gets a Visual Upgrade

Leaked screenshots suggest that the Messages app will benefit significantly from the new translucent effects, giving the app a modern, fluid feel. This change, combined with subtle UI enhancements, ensures that iOS 19 stays fresh without compromising usability.

Major Visual Overhaul, But Apple Intelligence Delays Continue

Even though iOS 19 promises to be a significant visual upgrade, Apple is still struggling to roll out Apple Intelligence features. These AI upgrades, initially expected to launch alongside iOS 19, are reportedly delayed until 2026. Nevertheless, the revamped UI and fluid interface will likely keep users engaged while they wait for these advanced features.

WWDC 2025: What to Expect

Apple will unveil iOS 19 and other software updates at its WWDC event on June 9, 2025. While the exact feature list remains under wraps, Prosser’s leaks suggest that iOS 19 will be one of the biggest updates in recent years—at least visually.
