Inter Milan agree signing of Joaquin Correa from Lazio on loan deal with obligation to buy

Inter Milan have agreed the transfer of Lazio striker Joaquin Correa for a fee worth €30 million, with another million Euros in the deal in the form of add-ons. 

The deal has been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, and will be confirmed in the next few hours or days. The player attracted interest from Everton in the Premier League as well, but only wanted to go to the Champions of Italy to reunite with his former coach at the San Siro. 

The player joins the Nerazzurri on an initial loan deal, with an obligation to buy at the end of the loan. He has made 117 appearances for Lazio and has scored 30 goals for the Biancocelesti since joining from Sevilla in 2018 for €15 million. In the 20/21 season, he scored 11 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions. 

Inter have signed Edin Dzeko and Correa as replacements for Romelu Lukaku, who left the club to return to Chelsea for €115 million, making him the most expensive sale in the history of Serie A.

The club have signed several young players in addition to experiences players like Dzeko and prime targets like Calhanoglu, and now Correa. They also had to let go of Achraf Hakimi, but are recruiting replacements smartly and could make their case to retain the title much stronger once they take to the pitch will the full new squad.
