Indkal Technologies to Launch Acer-Branded Smartphones in India

After entering the smart TV business in India, Acer has partnered with Indkal Technologies to launch its range of smartphones. Under this partnership, both companies have entered into a trademark license agreement in which Indkal Technologies will design and sell smartphones under the Acer brand name nationwide.

Starting in 2022, Acer-branded phones will become available locally as Indkal Technologies aims to launch several models through mid-2024. While the exact time frame has not been revealed they both aim to concentrate on smartphones between ₹15,000 and ₹50,000.

Indkal Technologies to Launch Acer-Branded Smartphones

With these smartphones, Indkal Technologies hopes to capture a good portion of the market with powerful specifications and next-gen software technologies, which may include AI features as well. Acer has been developing Acer smartphones for a couple of years, and the launch timing should fit well with that. This will be followed by smartphones manufactured in India and branded under the Acer brand, which will offer locally-made devices that you can buy from e-commerce portals or offline retail stores across the country.

In a statement, Anand Dubey, CEO of Indkal Technologies, expressed confidence in the upcoming smartphones: “With Acer smartphones, we are certain that Indian consumers are in for a treat. Our customers will experience exceptionally well-designed smartphones with high-end processors, top-notch camera technology, and a host of premium features across the range.”

Indkal Technologies based in Bengaluru was previously responsible for the development, distribution, and support of Acer-branded smart TVs launched in India. Such experience indeed offers an advantage in handling the launch of Acer smartphones in the ultra-competitive Indian landscape.

Designed to appeal to a wide range of users, it is expected that the new Acer smartphones will feature all metal chassis offering both performance and quality as well as advanced features. The launch is part of Acer’s strategy to carve out a space as one of the top smartphone vendors in India, through Indkal Technologies’ Integral Brand Solutions and the power of the brand ‘Acer’. The alliance will be able to bring out top-of-the-line devices that cater specifically to Indian consumers.
