India’s First Smart Glasses Are Here — Meet “B” by Lenskart at ₹22,000

India finally has its own answer to Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses — and it is built by an Indian company that already knows eyewear inside out. Lenskart has opened early access for “B by Lenskart”, the country’s first AI-powered smart glasses, priced at ₹22,000 as an early access offer, compared to a listed price of ₹27,000. The package includes blue light lenses, a charging case, and a cable.

For context, the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 glasses start at ₹29,900 in India — making B by Lenskart a meaningful ₹7,900 cheaper at early access pricing.

What Makes It Stand Out

Camera That Respects Your Privacy

The 12MP Sony sensor captures photos and records 1080p video at 30fps, and for privacy, an LED indicator lights up during recording. No more covert recording anxiety for people around you.

AI That Actually Understands India

The “Hey Buddy” assistant powered by Google Gemini delivers features including answering queries, contextual responses, and live note-taking. With support for 40+ languages and India-specific capabilities like UPI payments and live translation, this is not a generic global product retrofitted for India — it has been built with Indian users as the primary audience from the ground up.

Prescription Lens Support

This is Lenskart’s biggest structural advantage over Meta. The glasses support prescription lenses from -6 to +6 — something a pure tech company simply cannot replicate without a retail optical network behind it. India has hundreds of millions of prescription glasses wearers; for them, B by Lenskart eliminates the choice between vision correction and smart features.

All-Day Wearable, Not a Gadget

At 40 grams, B by Lenskart is designed to feel like traditional eyewear rather than a heavy tech accessory. The charging case delivers 12 full recharges, meaning you can leave home with a topped-up case and go a full two days without looking for a cable.

How It Compares to Ray-Ban Meta

Availability

The early access rollout suggests Lenskart is still testing real-world feedback before a broader release. Interested buyers can register via Lenskart’s official website. With over 2,900 retail stores across India, the full public rollout — when it arrives — will have instant nationwide reach that no imported competitor can match.

The Bottom Line

B by Lenskart is not a proof of concept or a startup prototype. It is a mature product with tier-1 hardware, a world-class AI platform, and a retail network that makes it genuinely accessible across India. At ₹22,000 with prescription support and Gemini on board, it comfortably beats the Ray-Ban Meta on value. Smart glasses have arrived in India — and they are Made in India.
