India Cricket Schedule 2023-24: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the tentative schedule for the upcoming domestic cricket season, which is set to begin with the Duleep Trophy on June 28 and conclude with the Ranji Trophy on March 2024. The season features a total of 1,846 matches, including red-ball and white-ball cricket.

Here’s the breakdown of the probable India Domestic Cricket Schedule: India Cricket Schedule 2023-24

  1. Duleep Trophy: June 28 to July 16
  2. Deodhar Trophy: July 24 to August 3
  3. Irani Cup: October 1-5
  4. Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: October 16-November 6
  5. Vijay Hazare Trophy: November 23-December 15
  6. Ranji Trophy: January 5, 2024-March 14

The Deodhar Trophy, which returns after a hiatus of three years due to COVID-19, will be played in July and August, ahead of the ODI World Cup in India. The tournament will return to a traditional zonal format, with six zones participating. The Irani Cup, one of the premier domestic cricket tournaments in the world, will commence on October 1, with Saurashtra facing the Rest of India side in Rajkot.

The season begins with two zonal competitions the Duleep Trophy and the Deodhar Trophy, followed by the Irani Cup. The calendar then moves to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in October – November, followed by the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The Ranji Trophy, India’s premier tournament, is set to kick off in January 2024, with the final scheduled for March 14. As many as 38 teams will be split into five groups, with four Elite Groups consisting of eight teams each and one Plate Group comprising six teams. The teams in the Elite Group will play seven league-stage matches each, with two teams from each group making it to the Quarterfinals. The six teams in the Plate Group will play five league-stage matches each, with the top four making it to the semi-finals.

The women’s domestic cricket season will also begin in October with the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, followed by the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal Trophy in November, and the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy in January 2024.
