Imran Khan Finally Speaks on His Divorce From Avantika Malik — And Lekha Washington’s Response to ‘Homewrecker’ Label Is Pure Fire

After years of silence, Imran Khan has finally opened up about one of Bollywood’s most talked-about separations. The Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na star, who made a long-awaited return to the spotlight after a decade-long hiatus, sat down for a candid conversation — and what he said about his divorce, his daughter, and his current relationship is both raw and deeply human.

Imran Khan Divorce: Key Facts

Why Imran Khan Says the Divorce Was Necessary

Speaking to ETimes, Imran explained that at some point his marriage with Avantika Malik started feeling unhealthy, and he weighed the alternative — which was propagating an unhealthy pattern and teaching that pattern to his own child. He described the decision as choosing what he considered the lesser of two evils.

He also explained his long silence on the matter. Imran said he had left that life, didn’t feel like a public person, and didn’t feel the need to explain himself to anyone — adding that it was only as he stepped back into public life in recent years that it seemed right to set the record straight.

Honest, mature, and remarkably self-aware. You can’t help but respect it.

His Daughter Imara — “My Lighthouse”

This is the part that truly hits home. Imran described his daughter Imara as his lighthouse through complicated and difficult times, calling her the beacon by which he set his compass — and saying he could never find enough words to express the joy, love, and meaning she has brought to his life.

Lekha Washington Fires Back at “Homewrecker” Label

Imran’s current girlfriend Lekha Washington has faced intense public scrutiny, but she’s not backing down. Lekha said that labels like “homewrecker” are often used to diminish and control women, that they don’t define her, and that she refuses to shrink herself to fit someone else’s need to cut her down — pointing out that no one truly understands the intricacies of someone else’s relationship, so no one is in a position to pass judgment.

Powerful words — and a reminder that public narratives rarely reflect private truths. For more Bollywood celebrity updates and entertainment news, head to TechnoSports.
