Why This Reunion Hits Different
2 The 2016 competition show and subsequent 11-member girl group sparked a rise in popularity of idol competition programs. Even though I.O.I was only active for less than a year, their impact is undeniable, and many of its members have gone on to have successful careers.
Jeon Somi became a global solo star. Kim Sejeong dominated K-dramas. Chungha redefined solo dance-pop. The fact that they chose to come back — without obligation — makes every tearful rehearsal moment even more meaningful.
